THE MOST OUTSTANDING ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING STUDENT AWARD 2011
Concept Paper

RATIONALE

The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines Inc. – Council of Student Chapters (IIEE-CSC) will be having its annual Search for the Most Outstanding Electrical Engineering Student through nomination per school chapter. Bonafide Electrical Engineering students enrolled under this curriculum year, 2011-2012 are encouraged to submit their application for this award. It gives recognition to the exemplary and commendable performance of a student for his academic, moral and social attainment as future leaders of the electrical engineering industry.

OBJECTIVES

1. To give recognition to the most outstanding electrical engineering student chapter of the curriculum year 2011-2012.
2. To involve the electrical students to participate in such activities to develop esteem and camaraderie among aspiring students.
4. To give prestige to the school of whom the Most Outstanding Electrical Engineering Student come from.
3. To improve the number of IIEE student members in each chapter.

REQUIREMENTS

a. Duly accomplished forms inclusive of all documents listed below (in sequential order)
i. Nomination form with picture (Cover Page)
ii. Personal Data Form
iii. Summary of Academic Performance Achievements
iv. Summary of Leadership and Social Responsibility Achievements
v. Nomination Letter (should be issued and signed by the College Dean and/or Department Head.)
vi. Recommendation Essay from a person (except relatives) with a deep knowledge of the personal history of the nominee (he/she may be a Mentor, Adviser, Community or Church Leader or any person of notable repute who was worked with the nominee.) The recommendation essay must specify the motivations, circumstances, and impressions surrounding the nominee’s life story that seems to be vital to his/her recognition as an outstanding student.

viii. Certificate of Good Moral Character (issued by the Office of Student Affairs, or its equivalent office)
ix. Nominee’s Essay
x. Temporary Transcript of Records or Summary of Grades – should include all subjects with grades taken by the nominee from first year college up to the last semester of the previous school year and computed GWA / GPA for each semester.
(Note: Regional Awardees have to submit their Temporary Transcript of Records or Summary of Grades up to the recently finished Semester of the current School Year for National Nomination)
xi. Certification of GWA / GPA – should not include NSTP and PE in the computation for the same period above and shall be signed by the school registrar. The Certification must indicate both the numeric and percentage equivalent of the GWA/GPA, as well as the highest and lowest possible GWA/GPA that can be acquired in the Grading System used.
(Note: All scholastic records must be certified true copies by the college / university)
xii. Supporting Documents
1. Academic Performance – shall include only photos of awards with descriptive captions (name of honor/award, date, venue, and award-giving bodies) and copies of newspaper clippings and certificates.
2. Leadership / Social Responsibility – shall include only copies of certificates , newspaper clippings, photos of activities (name of activity, date, venue, and organizing bodies), and photos of awards (for co- and extra-curricular awards and/or for civic involvements and services);

Note: No nomination fee is required for this award.

25th Chapter Representatives Meeting

August 3rd, 2011

The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines  held its 25th Chapter Representatives Meeting (CRM)  last July 30, 2011 at Seminar Room 2, IIEE Building. With a total of 90+ delegates from 32 school chapters, alumni and sponsors,  CRM ended succesfully. Sponsors for the said event are Syquin Electric Wires and Cables , Microcadd, Moldex and Powerline Review Center who also happen to be present in the event.

This Chapter Representative Meeting promoted active camaraderie and gave opportunity for every school chapters to raise concerns and suggestions for improving CSC service to students.

Good evening! The IIEE-CSC cordially invites you to attend the Chapter Representatives Meeting this coming July 30, 2011, Saturday at 2nd Floor Seminar Room, IIEE Building from 1pm to 5pm.

Representatives from different affiliated school chapters are expected to participate the event, thus giving you opportunity to raise concerns and suggestions for improving EE student service. Thank you!

25th IIEE-CSC Induction

The IIEE-CSC held its 25th Induction of officers last July 1, 2011 at Rembrandt Hotel, Tomas Morato Manila. With a total of 50+ participants attended, the Induction was successfully completed during the IIEE NCR Conference. Officers from IIEE and other attendees had witness the new batch 25 officers as they take their oath to solely serve the EE students.
